On June 1st, 2023, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) issued the Notice on Implementing the New Edition Standard GB 17625.1-2022 for Voluntary Certification of Lighting Electrical Appliances. The notice shows that the voluntary certification of lighting electrical products will be implemented on July 1, 2024 according to the standard GB 17625.1-2022 "Electromagnetic Compatibility Limits Part 1: Harmonic Current Emission Limits (input current of each phase of equipment ≤16A)" and will replace GB 17625.1-2012.

New version of standard implementation plan

◆ From the date of issuance of this notice to June 30, 2024, enterprises can voluntarily choose to implement certification according to the new version or the old version. Since July 1, 2024, the new version of the standard should be adopted for certification and the new version of the standard certification certificate should be issued, and the old version of the standard certification certificate will no longer be issued.

◆ For products that have been certified according to the old standard, the holder of the old standard certification certificate shall submit an application for converting the new standard certification certificate before the first follow-up inspection after the implementation of the standard. The main differences and test requirements of the new and old standards shall be implemented with reference to the Technical Resolution on the Implementation of Certification for Changing Edition of GB 17625.1-2022 Standard (see annex) issued by TC10 Technical Expert Group of CNCA. The conversion of all old standard certificates should be completed by June 30, 2025 at the latest; If the conversion certificate has not been completed on September 30, 2025, the old standard certificate will be revoked.

◆ There is no need for certificate conversion for certified products that have been put on the market before July 1, 2024 and are no longer produced.
